Located just outside San Diego, the North Course at OMNI La Costa was redesigned by Gil Hanse and offers a challenging, strategic layout. Originally designed by Dick Wilson in 1965, this par-72 course has been the host of 37 PGA Tour events including the Tournament of Champions and the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, and now serves as the home of the Men's and Women's NCAA Golf Championships through 2028. The 2024 Gil Hanse redesign aimed to make the course more connected to the natural landforms, utilizing native vegetation and strategic bunker placement. The number of bunkers was reduced, but those remaining were distinctly shaped to offer varied challenges. Fairways were widened to provide strategic approach angles, and the course now features six sets of tees, accommodating golfers of all skill levels."
